"WPS Button" on THOMSON 585 v7

How do you set the WiFi "WPS Button" to work?
I have a theory!  Just download the THOMSON SpeedTouch™585 v6 Manual from http://www.speedtouch.nl/docs/ST585_UserGuide.pdf . Then read Section 2.2.4 pages 29 to 30.
See attached for more background plus the (edited) extract from the v6 Manual

PS - I further suspect that the v6 guide would help to solve some of the other missing instructions we can't find in v7 or v8 SetUp & User Guides.
PPS - I tried finding answers in other forum topics, but just found other statements of similar unsolved problems.

Hi Joanne,
Not tried yet - as it said in attachment waiting for advice before wasting another hour or two failing to get better result.
I've now searched a bit deeper.  Bob Pullin says at  http://community.plus.net/library/hardware/how-to-upgradedowngrade-the-firmware-on-the-thomson-585v7... :
Version 7.4.4.7 firmware (Plusnet branded) ~ PPTP ALG enabled / WPS disabled / ....
Version 8.2.23.0 firmware (Plusnet branded) ~ PPTP ALG disabled / WPS enabled / ....
Version 8.2.6.5 firmware (Plusnet branded) ~ PPTP enabled / WPS disabled / .....
I guess we would be best waiting for  Version 8.3.x.x (Plusnet branded) - ... / WPS enabled / ....?  I assume Version 8.2.23.0 firmware did not work!

To be honest we are more likely to have new hardware rather than any new firmware for the v7.
