problem getting new tabs with FF 3.6.16 SOLVED

for the last week I cant open new tabs with Ctrl+T or by clicking the + at the end of tabs,  doing a link click opens a tab.
Any clues, I have been through the menu but cant find any thing

It was a sneaky update to disable that to make you go to version 4

It did appear, but I disabled it, now uninstalled it, it was part of a Foxit PDF creater install
Tabs now work Tah
