The Plusnet profile is set the same, but rounded down - which is 12.6Mb as per what is displayed above.
You've got a lot of errors on the line, which is why it's connecting at a slightly lower speed than it would in ideal conditions.

i assume it's the FEC errors ?
what might be the cause of those?
assuming i sort that out, does anything else then need to done to eek it up a little?

The first thing I would try is to plug the ADSL modem into the test socket (remove the front plate on the master socket) and compare the stats.

if it's FEC then reading on kitz
Quote FEC Errors - Forward Error Correction
Count of errors that have been corrected due to error correction being applied to the line. Error correction is turned on at the same time as Interleaving. Its normal to see FEC errors on an Interleaved line and rather than anything to be too concerned about its more an indication that the Interleaving & Error Correction process is working and doing what it should. - See Error Correction for more information.
i wonder if interleaving is enabled as i some major disconnection issues with my line a few months ago and interleaving was turned on to see if it would help (it didn't), and possibly it has been left on once the issues were resolved?
regardless, i'll check out cabling and other stuff anyway.

Your line is syncing less than it should do ideally - but there can be many reasons for this. Checking your internal wiring is the first step as this can be a common cause.

so i will definitely get investigating.
should i find an internal cabling issue and fix it, should i see an immediate improvement of sync speed?
i'll also do a quiet line test as well.

The thing to do is to get the statistics from the master test socket and see if there's any difference.

If the wiring looks ok, then try connecting your router to the master test socket just to see the difference in line attenuation.
