poor connection the last 48hrs

Hi PN faithful I'm wondering if there has been any issues over the last few days on the network around the Paignton area?
There has been lots of Open Reach engineers digging up roads and climbing poles etc all around Paignton, which I assumed was the installation of Fibre, however since they have begun, my connection has been awful.
I was getting a ping of under 20, no packet loss or jitter, and 17meg download.
However I am currently getting:

I am also getting lots of buffering, some videos not streaming at all, and plenty of pages not loading.
All my equipment is fine, I have checked all connections, rebooted, blah blah and the issue is still showing.

Re: poor connection the last 48hrs

Looking on PlusNets status page they're saying there was a problem and they've done something to correct that.
Their remedy is the typical restart router, although I've ding that s few times and big bade a difference. I'm syncing at 4500k, but speedtesting at 0.2k and uploading at 0.1.
Maybe you're gavjnv the same issue.
Oddly enough I just gut an email to say fibre us now available. A coincidence I wonder?

Hi Devonian,
It's been a while! Smiley  Yes, as mentioned by Griff a reboot is recommended. I have run some basic connection checks from this side and everything seems to be in order.

Adam,
You did well to read what I put there.  I swear I wasn't drunk, but looking at that you'd think I was.  Grin
I was typing it on the i-phone as I was having a better connection on a low 3g signal than I was on broadband.
Hopefully it's sorted when I get in tonight or i'll be picking the phone up.  Wink

Sorry for the late reply...
Hi Adam!!  Smiley Smiley
OK, I'm still have problems loading pages and streaming video.
Download speed is very much up and down at the moment, and ping is off the scale.
I have double checked all equipment and settings, and rebooted the router.

Re: poor connection the last 48hrs

This maybe a completely different issue, but when trying to run a test on the bt speedtester site, I get to 100% on upload test 1, then an error message:

FAQ

The system is currently busy. Please try again shortly, however if this problem persists, raise the issue with your service provider

I have been getting it for days now.

Re: poor connection the last 48hrs

I've seen a few posts again recently about the BT Speedtester being borked, so it's not just you.
Have you had a good listen to your phone line to make sure that you don't have any crackling or other noises, or other problems with incoming/outgoing calls that would indicate a line problem?
If no line problems, I'd suggest you next move should be to try another modem/router and filter (at the test socket) in case that's the cause
If then you still have an issue, best to raise a fault.

Re: poor connection the last 48hrs

Thanks for the replies guys (and girls  ;))
Quite line test is silent.
I also have the PN Thompson router that is normally in a cupboard as I use a Netgear, and get the same issue.
My router has been plugged into the test socket for days now.
I will raise a fault later.
Cheers.
