pc ethernet and laptop wireless connections

Hi ,
I presently have a pc running XP and connected to Thomson Router  tg585 v7  via ethernet .
I am about to buy a new laptop with Windows 7  and wish to run it with the wireless connection to the Router.
1.  Assume this configuration  would be ok and easy  to set up ?
2.  Would the pc and laptop work totally independently , I do not wish any linking/networking between the pc and laptop .  PC for myself and Laptop for the wife .
Any Pro's and Con's to think about ?
Cheers
Keppy

Re: pc ethernet and laptop wireless connections

There will be no problems between the laptop and pc just follow the instructions for adding wireless devices. The router will treat each as totally independent machines which don't need to interoperate between them.
