The engineer has left a piece of equipment at my house ir says "Oscillator 87J" on it and it has a negative and positive connection output

That injects a tone so he can find you pair easily on the blocks in the cabinet.
Now's your chance to get BT to book a time to come and collect it and then be out when they turn up (more than once!)

Since that external cable has been replaced with a new one i haven't had any problems at all. It took around nearly two hours after the engineer testing my line about five times then going to the cabinet then going to the exchange and then coming back to mine, then he popped his head out the window looked along at the wire and said "I think ive found the problem, that cable is shot and knackered" so another engineer came out to put another cable in, so all good so far.

I've popped a note on the ticket for us to arrange with you for a convenient time for BT to collect the equipment that was left.

Could you ask BT if they are able to collect the oscillator 87J on either Monday 24th February between 1 and 6, Tuesday 25th February between 1 and 6 or Wednesday 26th February 8-1 from my premises please, these are the most convenient times for me.
