no internet connection!

Hi guys, for the past few days my broadband connection was up and down. It died totally yesterday morning.Tried to reset the router few times, swapped cables, tried to connect with filter (landline is for broadband only so cable was connected directly to bt socket) no luck.
Called CS  and been told it might be a physical damage issue with wires or something like this and as it all looks ok in theirs side.
Its now plugged in to test socket and been told they will run some tests. 24 hrs and still nothing.
Also been told that if its about a damage to equipment and if the engineer will be send over there will be a £50 charge. router and cables are not something you play with every day. In my case they have not been touched since they have been set up a good year ago. No easy access to them either, how there might be a damage then?

It's certainly been intermittent.

Our end is saying the router in sync. Is there any activity on the internet light?

Same problem here. Disconnects are becoming more frequent each day. I know the router is faulty and I'm not paying £50 for an engineer to confirm this, so I'm off!

We are seeing a couple of drops over the past few days.

What makes you think the routers at fault out of curiosity?

There is no light on internet, only broadband and power.

I have tried it already. I'm getting this message: "Could not configure IP parameters".
2 days of running tests by CS so far and no luck Sad
I hope I won't end up like jim13 :-)
I have been told it can take up to 72 hrs...and then what?

I've reset the router this morning and got connected Smiley
speeds looks great too, shame it stays like this only for a while then it drops, especially upload speed :/
anyways thanks for your help and hopefully I will stay connected.
