Evening all,
Last couple of weeks our internet connection has ground to a halt, working very slowly and at weekends not at all. Impossible to stream. Had a decent connection for the last three years.
the thomson router is TG585 v8, software release 8.2.7.7
My internet connectivity check flags this:
Connectivity to Gateway (195.166.130.34) ✔
Connectivity to DNS Server 1 (212.159.6.9) ✖
Connectivity to DNS Server 2 (212.159.6.10) ✖

i stopped using plusnets dns servers ages ago.
there is a bit of software that lets you find the best one for you....cant remember the name.

Forget about the DNS server connectivity it is an incorrect result from the router
Your problem is that your line is apparently banded http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/speed_guide/broadband_terminology.shtml#bandedProfiles with an enormous number of errors
The first thing is do you have a master socket with a removable lower faceplate
Second are you absolutely sure that everything attached to the phone system including Sky Box, Monitored Alarm, etc is filtered

DNSBench.exe from grc.com
and this is one reason why you might wish to change (2 minutes ago - Plusnet's DNS servers sloooooooooow):

Just to add to Adam's post, he's still running some checks. It's a 20CN line so it's not banded.

I've submitted an SNR reset which should hopefully resolve this.
However @ox06 we're seeing a few disconnections which might be causing some issues. Is this something you're aware of?
