Re: new router, very low speeds :(

No, that should be an issue for standard checks on a speed issue.
I do suspect that this may boil down to exchange contention, but we'll find out in due course.

Re: new router, very low speeds :(

have got another router in hand just in case.
trying to get a couple more shorter ethernet cables as well.
just wondering can plusnet reset an adsl profile?
would that even make any difference?

Re: new router, very low speeds :(

If it gets to the point where we need to raise a fault we can request that BT do this as part of the investigation, but unfortunately that's as much control as we have. Whether or not it will make a difference depends on the line and all the other usual interferences with the ADSL signal - essentially it'll be like getting Max for the first time and having to go through the 10 day training period again.
Hope that helps,

Re: new router, very low speeds :(

ok, hopefully it will not have to go that far.
it does seem as though something is throttling the connection
I know I was on level 1 management, just wondering can you double check or reset the traffic filter system?
as you can see I am clutching at straws here and do not know if you can do that or not.
right have got 3 new shorter ethernet cables, a new broadband cable and a new router to try.

Hi there,
I've just checked with someone in the know, and you're certainly on the right service offer for your product.

Hey,
I think everyones been the idiot in the corner at some stage, I know I have Wink
The BT Speedtest seems to generate random errors when it's busy.  I'd persevere with it and see if it eventually lets you in.
