new contract only 3 days old - can I cancel without cost?

New contract only 3 days ago - then found better elsewhere.  I thought I could cancel within 14 days but when I tried to "switch" to another received a text from Plusnet saying as I was in contract Id be charged (lots!)...

Is this right?Huh

The 14 day 'cooling off' period is from when you placed the order not when the service started.

See section 9 in the Plusnet standard terms here https://www.plus.net/help/legal/terms/

If you're still within that 14 days from order, then it could just be a rather 'over zealous' automated system sending the text.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: new contract only 3 days old - can I cancel without cost?

Hi @jd6 I tried calling you noting only the option to leave a voicemail, I hope you are well.

What @MisterW said is correct, however, if the contract is a renewal contract you may be still in a position to cancel without penalties, provided that this was stipulated within the last 14 days.

I have also emailed you from the account with more detailed response for your circumstance, please follow this link at your earliest convenience: https://www.plus.net/wizard/?p=view_question&id=247808178

Re: new contract only 3 days old - can I cancel without cost?

Hi to both who responded. Thanks that helps reassure me - think it was an over zealous automated thing... ordered on 1st may and it was a renewal, activated on 7th. Today is 9th so well within 14 days of the order on the 1st.

I'll go ahead and switch with confidence I won't be charged.

Thanks again
