It seems that that isn't the only thing that needs fixing - on the Set a price limit page - (my bold)
"You may be charged slightly more than your limit, if the money remaining before reaching your limit is less than the minimum £2 charge for additional usage. "
So what exactly does that mean?

And........... Huh

Re: new charges for exceeding monthly allowance?

I believe it means that if you set a limit that is greater than the low threshold (eg £11.99) but lower than the higher threshold (eg: £13.99), you will be charged the higher amount as the 2GB will have been added automatically, taking you to the higher amount, but nothing will be added after that.

Re: new charges for exceeding monthly allowance?

Thank you Jameseh. I think I got it right now. It will cost me £1.22/GB over my 2GB allowance. I also think the 99p figure is for Options 2 & 3, I'm on Option 1. To 'prepay at the start of the month' I presume I have to change to a new allowance from the dropdown list. Does that mean I will be billed an extra 98p/GB/month whether I use the extra or not?
Hope that's clear,
Bertb

Re: new charges for exceeding monthly allowance?

Thanks for prompt reply and confirmation. I will stay as I am at the moment, I moved from paying £14.99 to £9.95 with PN so still plenty of headroom at £1.22/GB

Re: new charges for exceeding monthly allowance?

Hi James,
maybe I'm just being a bit thick today, also perhaps I should have just bolded the words after

the minimum £2 charge for additional usage.

So how can one buy a single 1G @98p pre-pay/£1.22 post pay (option 1) if there's a minimum charge of £2?

Re: new charges for exceeding monthly allowance?

Chris,
The same way that you were always able to do so.
Like I say, it's just a misdirected email.  The functionality of purchasing additional single gigabytes of usage allowance should not have changed for Broadband Your Way customers.

Re: new charges for exceeding monthly allowance?

Chris,
Do me a favour and try setting it to £11.
Just to see if it works.

Should also mention that I've raised Problem 55773 to our Content Team.

Re: new charges for exceeding monthly allowance?

Hi James,
Make what you will of the first screenshot, i don't know what may happen. (The implication is you can buy a fraction of a GB or has that always been the case?)
The second screen shot is possibly more likely to give the desired result

Re: new charges for exceeding monthly allowance?

Just a update.
I'm still getting the same "We've added a further 2 GB of usage for the month to your account, which will add a £2 charge to your next subscription charge.
" in my usage allowance mail however, the billing amount is correct at:

1GB Additional Data Transfer Charge Until  DATE £1.06 £0.16 £1.22

I'll be watching you though!

Re: new charges for exceeding monthly allowance?

I find it hard to understand how an organisation like Plusnet, which wishes to be seen as technically competent, can take over a month to resolve a problem like this.
You have caused great confusion with one of my referrals. His view of Plusnet is dropping rapidly. Don't you care?

Re: new charges for exceeding monthly allowance?

I don't think you should get confused between the new (current) products and BBYW (now legacy) products. With the new products - the minimum is 2Gb (£2). For BBYW it's still 1Gb and billed for each Gb it would seem, it just the BBYW web page information that's wrong and the e-mail is wrong it would seem.
