Re: mybroadbandspeed test

It's a pity this 'Mybroadbandspeed' problem as I've used it for quite some time and it's always delivered.

It seems to be OK again now so maybe there was a glitch that got fixed.  Maybe a man and his screwdriver arrived at PN Towers Grin Grin

Re: mybroadbandspeed test

It looks like either the webserver running the site is repeatedly dying (telnet to port 80 occasionally gives connection refused - ie nobody home) or there's more than one server hiding behind the one ip address and one or more of them are defunct in some way or other.

Re: mybroadbandspeed test

Hi folks!
Contrary to the later posts all has been well here, 21.17 last night and 11.04 just now. Hope this maintains its performance for and gets better for all you others still suffering. Will keep an eye on the situation and will report as necessary.

Hi Strat,

Re: mybroadbandspeed test

I would like to complain that the pointer on the speed test wont go round far enough. On my office connection it just gets to the 10mb+ mark and sticks there!!  Grin ( ducks to avoid all the rotten eggs from those with 'normal' ADSL lines )
Actually for a while after we were upgraded to ADSL2, it still only gave about 6mb speeds and I put it down to a fault with the speedtester. Then we realised we still had a 10mb network card as the uplink from our firewall to the ADSL router, doh! Roll_eyes Replacing with a 100mb card gives a nice 14-15mb speed ( ducks again ) Smiley
