Re: metronet emails

Steve,
Do you have any details of the undeliverable message that was being received?

Re: metronet emails

Here's an example of returned message details:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
      Subject: a test
      Sent: 31/10/2007 09:39
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
      xxxxxxxxxxxx@metronet.co.uk on 31/10/2007 09:39
The e-mail address could not be found.  Perhaps the recipient moved to a different e-mail organization, or there was a mistake in the address.  Check the address and try again.

Re: metronet emails

Is it only a certain sender who cannot email you?  Could be a bad configuration at their end?
I've just tried sending a test message and it looks like it'll get through fine :-

Re: metronet emails

Thanks.
Does this happen with all emails or just the odd one?
(Btw, I'm going to edit your post and remove your email address)

Re: metronet emails

Yes, received that thanks. It is only a minority that aren't getting through... I'll try from another mail address though..

Re: metronet emails

If you can PM me the address you're sending from and a copy of the rejection message with full headers then we can check our Exim logs to see if the issues at this side or the senders.

That does look concerning. It looks to me like our mail delivery platform is having difficulty handing your messages over to the storage platform. I'll have somebody take a look.

Re: metronet emails

I have just replicated it with my own Metronet address. I've opened a P1 problem.
Edit: We've found a missing clause in one of the scripts on a couple of our mail delivery servers. It wasn't including a database table for the @metronet.co.uk domain when it should have been. It should be fixed pretty quickly.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention Steve.
