low upstream snr affecting stability?

Since the new DMT was added I have noticed that each time my upstream snr drops below 8 my connection becomes unstable, as a result the down stream increases.  My down stream snr has been fairly static at 14-15 for the last week or more, but it jumps when upstream snr drops below 8.
2011/07/25 16:35:11 PPPOE authentication succeeded
2011/07/25 16:34:21 PPPOE Connection terminated.
It was at 8 before I lost sync and it dropped even more.
DSL Modulation Mode ADSL2
DSL Path Mode Fast
Downstream Rate 1816 kbps
Upstream Rate 363 kbps
Downstream Margin 21.7 db
Upstream Margin 6.0 db
Downstream Line Attenuation 48.8
Upstream Line Attenuation 28.0
Downstream Transmit Power 18.9
Upstream Transmit Power 12.6
I've said it a few times but this new DMT isn't as good as the old system
Currently connected to test socket with only my router
FTTP 500 regrade from Tues 28th November
