loss of connection now

My internet just died for 4 mins i was playing bf3 at the time of this
This screen shows my loss of internet to battlelog http://i47.tinypic.com/121622v.jpg
Before this happened i was on this gateway ptn-ag01.
This is located in Telehouse West.
Im now on this gateway..
ptn-ag02.
This is located in Telehouse North.
I dont really understand all these gateways, up until a month ago gaming was fine, something is deffo broken here.
Pinging bbc.co.uk [212.58.241.131] with 32 bytes of data:

Ping seams fine atm, very odd how i was disconnected a ferw mins ago so fast, i lost all internet very quicly... could this be down to PN tweaking things or rebooting things maybe ?
Btw ive not actully put any support tickets in to report my recent issues with gaming, as you guys are aware of that anyways. But im not sure why i just lost connection.

Re: loss of connection now

There are a massive number of reasons for a short single loss of connectivity ranging from us kicking users to something causing a blip at your end. Unless it starts happening regularly or more often I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: loss of connection now

In response to Chris Parr's Plusnet's reply:
A short loss of internet connectivity is indicated....  how?
In six years of usage, whenever I have lost internet connectivity (a) my browser hangs (or, whatever...), and (b) my router indicates the loss of connectivity to me.
I do not need to do anything, because the router will keep attempting to reconnect until successful, whereupon the router will indicate to me that connectivity has been re-established, and my browser etc will spring back into life.  Hooray.
However, just recently I experienced something quite different.  Whilst browsing the online Guardian site, for no apparent reason I was suddenly presented with a BT Wholesale page (I am not knowingly using BT Wholesale, note) which said that the BT Wholesale access point to my Service Provider was currently down.  It claimed that my service should be resumed "soon".
But, it also said I must close every internet application and re-connect!
(It also offered other explanations which did not apply...)
I am expected to intervene with a manual operation, and, indeed, every attempt to link to any URL simply resulted in the display of this BT Wholesale page.
How would I know when I could re-connect?
I re-booted my router and I was immediately able to link to the online Guardian.  Was that luck?  Would any future re-boot of the router similarly enable me to link to URLs of my choice?
Finally, what the hell happened?  Is this something "new"?  Can I (we) expect, in the future, to sometimes be presented with a BT Wholesale page - to which we have not linked - and then have to re-boot our routers to regain internet connectivity?
I am puzzled by this event.
(I include a .png of the offending BT Wholesale web page)

Don't know if any of these apply or are relevant to you or help in any way.

Aha!  Thanks for that;  very informative.  I do not use a Netgear router:  mine is a Linksys SRX200.  However, the various threads have given me a clue as to what to do should this begin to happen too often.
(My first posting in six years!  Search failed to locate the relevant threads, too:-(  I also tried-but-failed to raise a ticket because (a) .webarchive attachments were not allowed, and then (b) my .png attachment question seemed to just "disappear" into the ether, without error, but never appeared on my list of open (or closed) questions:-}  The forum was my third attempt:-)
Thanks, again, for your help.

Re: loss of connection now

Yes the Forum Search can be useless - I had several attempts to dig up the threads that I knew were there. Sometimes better to use Google but specify site:community.plus.net
Welcome to the forum by the way, but you'll probably get told off by a mod for fully quoting an immediately preceding post Forum Rules and all that  Wink
There is another possibility and that is Maintenance http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1349107117.htm or even Faults. The Service Status is a good place to keep an eye on, the RSS feed is useful see http://usertools.plus.net/status/ ; or goto http://portal.plus.net/supportpages.html?a=2

Re: loss of connection now

Bear with it, things are normally as bad like this. As you will have noticed from the other threads, they are getting "plenty of feedback" on here, but not enough phone calls to CSC it would seem  Lips_are_sealed

@ukste20
I can see you reset your connection at 10:35pm last night, did this improve your connection afterwards or did you still have a poor connection?
How is it this morning?
