latency issues yet again

Over the years of being with plusnet they have had a fair share of latency problems but not like this. i have never seen it so bad. I am on the pro account which offers low and stable pings. this could not not be futher from the turth. I am begining to think pro is just a con.
gaming (which pro is aimed at) is just impossible and the weird think about it is when i am gaming with people on a different isp,s the connection is bad but when playing with my friends who are with plusnet it gets even worse and there is no point in trying to game. So the big question is why am i even with plusnet never mind paying for pro.
i usually get a stable ping of 22ms heres what it has been like the past few weeks.

Re: latency issues yet again

There is two other PN customers reporting that when they play in the same room they both get awful lag, yet when they play on there own against random people all is fine.

Re: latency issues yet again

yeah that is strange. if anything you would think the connection would be better on the same isp.

Re: latency issues yet again

is the unstable pings coming from the 2nd hop (ie the PN gateway).
what I'm seeing to BBC on this interleaved post office connection at the mo.

Re: latency issues yet again

@chrisyoung
Are the ping you're showing from a wired or wireless connection? If it's wireless have you tried using a cable to see if that improves it?
Does pinging anywhere else give the same erratic results?

Re: latency issues yet again

exchange congestion
http://www.nildram.net/support/tools/congestion_checker/ they may only be reporting for 20cn adsl, so if your 21cn adsl2 even if it says green your exchanges vlan 21 cn pipes may still be running hot
