just checked my broadband usage and it at 4.24gb for the day

now ive hardly used my internet today and as ive downloaded alot this moth im very close to extra charges, i know for a fact i havnt used 4gb today is there anyway this can be sorted in the short term?

Do you have recorded usage for all days prior to this?
I ask because my grandchildren were here on Saturday using two PCs ,recorded usage was zero.
Seems I had high usage a day or so after,playing catch up I guess.  I don't worry as I'm on unlimited

why not jump onto an unlimited product ?
especially as the contract prices right now are the same if not cheaper than the older limited products

only problem is i was out between 10 and 2 and didnt leave anything on that connects to my internet (exept the sky box) but after turning my router off for 20 hours there was no usage during this time, can someone tell me how to change my router password  just in case someone is using my router, ive changed to unlimited now, from friday as advised on the thread, its a pound a moth cheaper.

also there was a post on this thread saying it might have been catching up with previous usage, this might be possible as ive downloaded a lot of tv shows and playstation store stuff in the last week or so.

it could be the sky box updating the on demand files
my sky box downloads about 5 gig a month on its own, and there was some obscure small print about not using the internet on demand via the box option because of this

well here's hoping your unlimited upgrade takes effect before any usage charges get applied, I remember years ago having a bill (my very first internet bill) back on dialup, for 5 days of rather limited usage of internet I had been billed the princely sum of £36, following that little revelation I found easynet and subbed for £20 a month on unlimited usage (and thus started my always on internet ) oh and that price was for all 850mb of data thank god its gotten cheaper over the years 
but yeah I haven't accepted had anything that wasn't unlimited in the last 16 years because of that very first charge for data
