Re: internet keeps dropping after 10pm

Hi,

A quick look through the stats suggests that your DS SNRM is a bit variable.  The line's target is 3dB, but the stats report 1.8 & 5.1dB which suggests the presence of electrical noise.  More about this later if we need to.

Is this a 2704n router?

Is the phone line quiet?

Please perform a quiet line test - dial 17070 select option 2 using a corded phone plugged into the test socket behind the face plate of the master socket. It should be silent. A noisy phone line (or no dial tone) will have a marked adverse impact on the performance of broadband.

If the line is noisy or there is no dial tone, then a PHONE LINE fault needs to be raised with your phone provider. If this is PlusNet, you can report a fault on line using the button below.

Is the router plugged into the master socket?  Are there any phone extensions - if yes please describe how the are wired and what is plugged into them.

Is there any item of electrical equipment which comes on at 10 pm?

@crt can you please provide a radius plot report?

Re: internet keeps dropping after 10pm

Thanks for the answers. It's not loosing the IP address (things don't work that way) but it is loosing synch. Further it looks like the target SNRM has changed.

Does your phone line box have an in-built ADSL filter? If not have you tried a new filter?

Suggest you follow the broadband fault trouble shooter - see links below.

Re: internet keeps dropping after 10pm

Looking at the disconnections on your line is pretty grim viewing:

Test results are showing the line is producing a lot of errors:

Upstream DSL Link Information Downstream DSL Link Information
Loop Loss: 23.3 39.0
SNR Margin: 16.6 6.6
Errored Seconds: 0 17
HEC Errors: 0
Cell Count: 57 98
Speed: 122 4539

Maximum Stable Rate (KBPS): 9088 Fault Threshold Rate (KBPS): 7270
Mean Time Between Retrains (Seconds): 493 Mean Time Between Errors Upstream (Seconds): 48
Indicative Line Quality: R Mean Time Between Errors Downstream (Seconds): 7

The next step would be to arrange an engineer visit. I'll respond to the fault ticket with that information shortly.
