Re: interleaving

ok so it looks like as you said theres something wrong somewhere looks like we got disconnected this morning and Interleaving has gone back on
Here are the stats
Uptime: 0 days, 8:58:34
DSL Type: ITU-T G.992.5
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,005 / 5,145
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [GB/GB]: 1.06 / 15.05
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.8 / 0.0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 27.3 / 51.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 5.8 / 5.7
System Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / ----
Chipset Vendor ID (Local/Remote): BDCM / IFTN
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 9 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 1 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): -
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 76,658 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 920 / 1,143,012
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 97 / 420
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 124 / 4,650

I had a look last night didn't copy the stats though but the CRC Errors were a million plus (down)
so it looks like Interleaving been put back on to keep them down.
Im still plugged into the master socket with a mircofilter no other phones plugged in ./
The boys Pings have gone back up to about 50-60 not spiking as much fingers crossed.
I think my line needs to be looked at , what do you guys think Huh

Re: interleaving

OK, well Interleaving must have been set to Auto and not Off, so Tony will have to have another go.
Have you tried the Quiet Line Test a few times?
Something is definitely going on, the US SNRM had (not for the first time) dropped to 3.8 after the reset but within 10 minutes was back to 5.4 and since the drop and Interleaving turning on, is now 5.8 with a similar US sync speed. It looks as thought the DS Target SNRM may have gone to 6dB with the slower DS speed.
Let us know how your streaming is with this speed?
Can you also post the version of Firmware on your TG582n - you'll find it in the Technicolor Gateway box (at the top) - Software Release.

You shouldn't be able to hear anything at all apart from a very very faint steady hiss/mush.
The fact that the CLT didn't show anything, doesn't mean that there isn't an intermittent iffy connection somewhere.
Try the ringback on Option 1, let it ring until it stops. The ringing current may help improve any joints that aren't 100%.
In the meantime you will need another order to turn Interleaving OFF this time, not just to Auto.

Re: interleaving

Ok mate
I'll do option 1 when i get home tonight.
If Chris /Tony  are reading this please could you get Interleaving turned off and not turned to auto, I think that's the best option for gaming by far.
Thank again for everyone's help

Re: interleaving

Interleaving is set as Off on your line so it shouldn't be on at the moment.
I'm trying to find out why it's been turned on.

Re: interleaving

That is very interesting and confirms something Anotherone said a while back
Interleaved upstream doesn't always limit the speed to 888kbps

Re: interleaving

Wink
There are some strange goings on, on this line. If we can get Interleaving back off, at least his kids will be gaming OK whilst we see if we can discover what might be going on.

Re: interleaving

You also appear to have lost 500kbps DS speed for the same SNRM and be in ADSL2 mode instead of ADSL2+  Shocked
If you can post some more stats later if convenient,  or sooner if you see any significant changes in SNRM.
I think we'll have to consider a bit of more detailed monitoring and I'll post back later with that suggestion.
In the meantime be a bit OCD with the Quiet Line Test, and the Ringback test.

Re: interleaving

Didn't see that mate but you are right is that why the Line Attenuation has changed to 47.5 ?
here are some more stats

Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.8 / 0.0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 27.3 / 47.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.3 / 6.0

Re: interleaving

Pings are about 130-180  Sad    Cry since restart last week was getting 15-25 ??  Roll_eyes
Is it because I'm on this DSL Type:  ITU-T G.992.3 instead of this DSL Type:  ITU-T G.992.5
Why did you change it ? only wanted interleaving turned off
do you think if i reboot the router it would change back ?
or is it something you guys have to do ?
