Re: help

Hi Mac,
I've just spoken to BT again and asked them to do some further work at your BT exchange.  I'll let you know when I've heard something back.

Re: help

It's never been a specifically PlusNet issue (apart from the fact that you are a customer of ours).
From what I can tell, the work requested to be done now has been.  Can you please try rebooting your equipment and then trying to reestablish the connection in your normal fashion.  Let me know if you are getting the sync light on your modem (like you were earlier).

Re: help

Hi there,
Please can you try logging on with the test usernames, in this order?
1) username: bt_test@startup_domain
password: test
2) bt_test_user@plusdsl.net
password: test
If both of these work your own username should do, however if you can post the results of all three of these tests (including logging on with your own username and password after you have done the first two) and we'll be able to advise further.

Re: help

Did the 'remote computer not responding' message pop up instantly?
If so, usually in this case this is something (a firewall or antivirus in most cases) on your PC blocking the outgoing connection from the modem; if the connection were getting out you would have a specific server name rather than 'remote computer'.
If not please advise further regarding the error messages received and we will investigate further for you.

Re: help

having attemped to connect on two diffrent computers and getting the 721 error. this should not be pc issue. i understand from other forums this is nearly allways isp.
its strange that i loss broadband 6 days ago because of bt line card fault. now when i got a signal i got 721 there is a connection there somewhere on in my case  no connection.!!!

Re: help

Hi,
I've just run a radius log check on this line and no logins were recorded on the exchange equipment, even the test logins. I will add this information to the fault ticket as it could be indicative of a fault at the exchange though it could also mean that the connection is not leaving the PC. Is there any way you could test this issue with a router rather than an ADSL modem?

Re: help

from what i  read this is  ppp framing/syncing at the exchange
and seeing that the line frame was at fault this must be no1 suspect / i cant do no more but try to connect  once or twice a day,

Re: help

No worries, thanks for letting me know. I'll pass this back to BT and you'll get a call from one of our faults agents as soon as we hear back from BT.
