healthy ping graph

Since a session drop and re-connect about 2am a couple of nights ago my TBB graph is looking ridiculously healthy. I only noticed one other user affected by the drop on the graphs page. I see I am now back on ptn-bng01, which not so long ago was the one we were all trying to get off. Not complaining or anything  Wink but what happened?

Re: healthy ping graph

Same here on PCL-AG05.
Much cleaner than it has been (there were lots of random yellow bits not long ago).
Web surfing generally more 'responsive' (an objective measure for which has proved elusive).
Definitely not complaining!

Re: healthy ping graph

Ok so this morning around 12:15am I got kicked back onto pcl-ag04. Apart from the fact that my wife was working using a vpn connection at the time and lost a bit of work, I notice that average ping times have ticked back up to the level before I was kicked over to ptn-bng01  Sad

Re: healthy ping graph

Can I ask how you find out which gateway you are on?

Re: healthy ping graph

Yeah, the greatly improved performance didn't last long here.
It's annoying because it's noticeable when it's really, really good.
Nothing untoward correlated graph-wise.
The BNG gateways have lower ping times, I believe, because they treat the ICMP traffic differently. It doesn't necessarily mean better real-world latency.

You can go here, or just do a traceroute.
