fibre speed help please

evening, I've had PN unlimited fibre for a week now and it is still at the speed it started at on day 1, ~36meg, although this is very fast compared to what i'm used to(12meg) I am wondering when it will speed up as my estimated speed was 75meg and I've done the BTwholesale speed test which says I'm capable of 75 +/-1 but my ip profile is 38Mb.
will this sort itself out over the next few days or so, or will I need technical help from the guys at plusnet?
thanks
ben

Re: fibre speed help please

It sounds like you might have the same problem that I've got.
Some recent customers have been accidentally capped at 40mb.
You could ask if you have been affected?

Re: fibre speed help please

Yes, that seems to have been happening quite a a bit recently.
You might want to have it checked out.
They say they will adjust mine tomorrow morning for me.

Re: fibre speed help please

been on the phone with a lovely chap from PN, says my account was looked at this afternoon and my profile changed from 40/10 to 80/20 at around 1pm and it takes upto 24 hours to fully take effect, he suggested that if I get under 60Mb he'll be surprised  Smiley

Re: fibre speed help please

the only thing i'm unsure of is if I have to do anything, will it just speed up or will I need to restart my router

Re: fibre speed help please

I asked this exact question too, and the plus net person said I didn't need to do anything.

Re: fibre speed help please

I think when this happened with my connection the following day didn't see any improvement until I disconnected and reconnected in the plusnet 582n router I was using at the time.  Not a full reboot just a reconnect using the button on one of the web pages on the router.
You may not have to do that but I gets a littles impatients so maybe I jumped the gun  Tongue

Re: fibre speed help please

Hi there,
You shouldn't need to do anything as the session should be restarted once the regrade is complete. Sometimes though a reboot can help nudge things along if you're not seeing any improvements Smiley

Re: fibre speed help please

evening, had a check when I got home 15 minutes ago and the DL was still ~35Mb but the UL was up around 15Mb so some improvement but only on the upload, a quick restart has resulted in this
