emails and attachments

hi i am carol from west cumbria.daughter lives in scotland and when i send or try to, the email wont send with a photo ,it says error ???? she is on hotmail.com will you please help in plain words what to try from a frustated great granny

Are you using Outlook Express and how big is the photo (file size)

oh now then , my email address is ot plusnet and the photo is just photo sized

Oh Dear.
First when you want to send an email and you click on the program do you see something like this picture.
Second can you explain what you do when you are trying to send the picture

hi jim ,when it happens. i write an email then click on my pictures ,select the one i want then type in the correct address then send

Can you try something for me.
I assume you are using Outlook Express.
Open Outlook Express
Click on Create Mail - top left icon
Click on Insert then File Attachment  (or click on the paperclip with Attach under it) - see picture
This should give you a window like this picture - top part only shown
If you click on the V next to Look In and this will allow you to navigate to My Pictures.  Find the file you want. Select in then click on Attach and it should work.
One other thing.
If you go to My Pictures and the picture you want to send can you right click on it then click on Properties (near the bottom) and tell me what the size is
