Re: email on ipod touch

I think the settings you need for this should be those given on the Member Centre Connection Details page (here). The Mobile Phone Email Guide might also help.
Please be aware of the following:
Quote
Note: For GPRS access, you may need to use your phone provider's outgoing mail server so that you can send email from your phone. Receiving email should be unrestricted.

I think that almost certainly will be the case since the Plusnet relays will not allow you to send mail unless connected via Plusnet broadband.

Re: email on ipod touch

This works for me:
name            Your name (e.g. Fred Smith)
address        Your e-mail address (e.g. fred@smith.plus.com)
description    mail.plus.net
incoming mail server
host name    mail.plus.net
user name    Your PlusNet mailbox name (e.g. smith+fred)
password     Your mailbox password
outgoing server
hose name    relay.plus.net
user name; optional
password ;optional
We use Outlook Express and if you sync your iPod with iTunes, it will set it all up for you automatically and also download all your contacts.

FYI the ipod Touch does not have GPRS it connect to the internet using WiFi only.
The settings specified by @bobboulby are correct but I would recommend filling out the Username and Password for the outgoing server it you intend to use public WiFi points. The Username and Password for the outgoing server have to be your account and not your mailbox ones.

user name    Your PlusNet mailbox name (e.g. fred+smith)

For the example quoted I think that should be smith+fred
and for the outgoing server
user name would be smith
password  your main account password

So if you enter the username and password for the relay server does that allow you to send e-mail from any wi-fi network?
