Has anyone else received an e-mail like the one quoted below? Has my ID been pinched? I don't have a domain as such - although I can understand why someone would think so - given the way plusnet compile their user names. Should I be worried? Is this a scam or try on? Should I respond?
Do I need to do anything?

Dear sirs,
Unsolicited email is being sent by your domain. Please remove my
email address from any bulk lists you may own.
I will charge £20 to receive any further emails. receipt of any
further emails will be taken as an approval of this arrangement. I
will keep all copies from this date and they may be used as evidence
in the small claims court.

In my opinion you should NOT respond as it is most likely a scam.
A large portion of such emails is spam backscatter and can be safely ignored.
I'd be interested to see what you receive next, probably a bill

Is Bill a Brother of Ian?
I agree with Strat - completely ignore it. Its either a chancer, or a delusional soul who has made a mistake, either way you don't really want to be talking to them.
