dropped connections

It is my understanding that it is normal for the connection to drop on occasion. This happens to me just a couple of times a week and usually is corrected after about a couple of minutes or so.
But sometimes I need to switch the router off and back on again to get it to reconnect to the internet.
I am wondering if this is normal or whether it could indicate a problem.

Re: dropped connections

Hi charly23,
The odd disconnection is normal however after looking at your RADIUS logs and faults check it seems that you're somewhere between normal and a possible fault. Given the disconnection in the graph below I've run a quick set of faults diagnostics and nothing was flagged as a problem so everything seems fine.
Do any of the disconnections in the graph line up with you restarting the router at all?

Re: dropped connections

Thanks for your reply.
Thanks for checking things over for me and reporting that things are probably okay.
I haven't ever switched off the router since joining plusnet except for twice when I switched it off and on again in order to reconnect to the internet. I was told that the system funtions best if the router is kept on.
Normally if the connection drops it comes back again after a few minutes. But on two occasions it didn't reconnect and I got it to reconnect by switching the router off and on again.
It disconnected briefly about half an hour ago whilst I was listening to music but came back on again after a couple of minutes.
Best Wishes,
Charly23
