Can anyone tell me please how to find out how many times my connection has dropped out as I appear to be loosing my BB but cant see when or how often, I have a ticket out for loud noise on the phone line but I am also having speed and disconnection problems. Iknow I have to wait for some one to check the line but a bit of amunition in advance might come in handy. Ted

Do you get the noise on the phone line if the router is switched off? If you do then there is a voice line fault that must be investigated and rectified before any Broadband fault can be investigated (commonly, resolving a voice line fault will also sort out broadband problems). If the noise disappears when the router is switched off then try a different filter.

Router says loss of signal 83/0
error seconds 310/0
FEC errors 0/7989
CRC errors 0/84
HEC errors 0/80
Must admit this doesn't mean much to me.Jim
Haven't tried with the router off but I will tomorrow, but I have changed the filter on advice from CS. Ted

Hi Teds,
You can see where the fault started and it does seem to have caused issues with your broadband. Your line is also being tested at the moment.

Hi Jojo, Just had the BT engineer here for about an hour, he seemed a nice lad, he found nothing wrong at all with the phone line, even though it was very noisy this morning. He said he wasn't a BB engineer but that seemed OK to him.I got straight on line and did a PT performance test and the connection dropped just as the results appeared (about 1400) .The line noise does seem to have gone and these are the latest BT results
Download speedachieved during the test was - 3551 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 1200-4000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :4512 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 3980 Kbps
these are the same results on the date shown-
Date 28/12/11 16:54
Download speed achieved during the test was - 4803 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 2000-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :6144 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 5420 Kbps
Quite a mystery!!!!!!!!!! Ted.

Hi Teds,
Looks like the line is still dropping, can you still hear the noise on the line? If so that'll be what's causing it, if not please let us know as we'll need to get you a broadband fault raised.

Hi Matt, Thanks for the quick reply, I am now completely lost with the whole thing,I still have some noise on my phone line, not as much as before, the Engineer said it may be a faulty phone, which I cant deny but they are fairly new BT wireless phones,I dont have another phone to try at the moment I have 3 hand sets and they all have noise on them though ofcourse it could be the transmitter part. The BB is a bit better as below
