does anyone know the bt adsl test username?

Does the old BT ADSL test username for access to their speedtest.bt.com still exist?  If so, does anyone know what the username is, and if there are any other settings needed to access it?
it was something like bt_test_user@something but I can't remember what

There are a number of test usernames:
bt_test@startup_domain confirms a basic connection to the exchange.
bt_test_user@plusdsl.net confirms your connection to the ISP network.
speedtest@speedtest_domain is the one to use when prompted to carry out the TAP3 test by the BTwholesale speed tester.
If your router requires a password for any of these, use ADSL1234 although anything will generally work as no authentication is carried out.

if I used bt_test@startup_domain to connect to the exchange, is there some sort of test web page that I could browse to to confirm that the connection is okay and there are no problems on the route from my property to the exchange?

is an invalid URL to me.
Have I missed something, as would like to see my connection etc...
