i had an overnight problem appear with my speed dropping and line noise going up from 5bd to 12db
so i unplugged everything and put my spare netgear router in the master socket with a different micro filter .....
tried to use the dmt tool but it will not connect ( well it says connected but will not display values and cannot resync ) but works
fine with the other netgear router ... the only difference been the one that works is v4 and the one im trying to connect to is v2 ?
any ideas chaps ?
model is DG834g
thanks

There is nothing which will allow you to tweak the noise margin.
If you just want to monitor it try Routerstats

thanks jim ... i was after tweaking
the older router has 3.5db lower line attenuation for some reason .....
not to worry ... i have the newer one running now and just waiting to see what plusnet say on a line test
connection is over 1mb slower than normal( usually connect at 2500mb now its 1100mb) and the noise margin has risen to 12db from 4ish ...........
fingers crossed its a line fault as im plugged into the master socket and everthing else is unplugged
