despamchecker - undelivered because spam detected!!!

This has got to be the most ridiculous situation.
I have just forwarded a number of spam mails to spam@despamchecker, and they have been rejected because spam has been detected within the emails.
Of course spam has been detected in the emails - that is why I sent them!!!
Here is the error message:
  ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<spam@despamchecker.plus.com>
    (reason: 550 Spam detected within email)
  ----- Transcript of session follows -----
... while talking to mx.core.plus.net.:
>>> >>> DATA
<<< 550 Spam detected within email
554 5.0.0 Service unavailable

What is happening here?

I had this happen to me too a little while ago, and I thought it was most bizarre.

Just looking into it now... has anyone else had this at all, and is it a constant thing or does it happen intermittently?

Yes I had this a while ago with just one email. My flabber had never been so gasted.

I've had it happen twice within the last month or so IIRC, so it's certainly only intermittent (considering that I probably forward 5-10 e-mails a day to spam@despam).

In a similar vein, I was amused to see my "Notification billing" from PlusNet to my PlusNet mail account recently also being marked as "Spam". I only found it by accident  ;). However, perhaps that is not as funny as it might appear. I do check the spam folder from time to time; other may not.

There is another mention of billing emails going into SPAM here.  If anyone else has experienced this, perhaps posting in that topic would help form a broader view of the problem.

That was the first time it had happened, and a few other mails bounced at the same time. Over the weekend I forwarded a few more messages which were fine, but this evening it has happened again.

I don't suppose you (or anyone else seeing this) could let us have the full headers and body from the returned mail? I've seen a couple of these but not been able to replicated so would be useful to see the headers to try and spot and pattern or link.

Could you let us have a copy of the headers please so we can see if we can see if we can see what caused it to be marked as spam?

This has just happened to me again. I have the message available to forward so that you can investigate. Where should I send it to?

Either raise a ticket or PM me the headers and I'll look into it first thing tomorrow.
