connecting nintendo via wireless router

Please help before I am driven mad!
I have a Thomson 585 v7 router.  All is well with  my computer connection but I might as well whistle when it comes to connecting the wii and dsi.
I have tried Plusnet, Nintendo and Thomson and they all tell me to contact the other grrr!
Try as I may I cannot get either Nintendo product to go online.  some progress today tho' the dsi has actually found the access point but that is as far as it goes.
I require the super-idiot guide please.
All and any help gratefully received.

Re: connecting nintendo via wireless router

What's the router set up like? When I set my young un's up I had to either broadcast the SSID or use WPA, I couldn't get it to work with a hidden SSID and WPA2.

Re: connecting nintendo via wireless router

1 Browse to the Thomson Gateway Web Interface on a computer that is already connected to your network.
2 On the Home Network menu, click Wireless.
3 In the upper-right corner, click Details.
4 The wireless Access Point page appears. Under:
Configuration, you can find the network name (SSID).
Security, you can find the encryption.

Re: connecting nintendo via wireless router

Partial success - I have now connected the dsi! Yippee!!!
But ... still no joy with the wii.
Do I have to configure anything in my router to make it accept the wii?
