im on Plusnet premium and have just gone to the Bt speedtest which says i have a configured download speed of 7000k
Could someone explain what this means and should this be higher on ADSL2
I get around 8000k at the router and achieve around 6000k when surfing - although this varies.
Should the max. speed i achieve be higher ?
thanks in advance

And now the BT speed test results
Download speedachieved during the test was - 6181 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :7971 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 444 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7000 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 14.56:23.51:61.93 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.
The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.
thanks in advance - hope these details are useful
