Re: can someone check my line, constant disconnects

No problems being here, if you've got something wrong as well hang on if you want or start a thread of your own and I'll come and have a look.

Re: can someone check my line, constant disconnects

Mandy, I believe the line has been banded by DLM, which will undoubtedly be as a result of the frequent drops.
The evidence to date suggests the possibility of a duff filter, if you have another, swap it. Mark the current one in some way so you don't get them mixed up. Keep it all plugged into the test socket just to keep to the rules of the fault process.
After you've swapped the filter, check and see if the broadband drops when the phone rings.

Re: can someone check my line, constant disconnects

Current router stats, seems a very lot of errors lol
Link Information
Uptime: 0 days, 9:34:19
DSL Type: ITU-T G.992.5
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,040 / 4,229
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/MB]: 78.79 / 595.91
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.8 / 0.0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 27.2 / 53.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 5.7 / 1.5
System Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / ----
Chipset Vendor ID (Local/Remote): BDCM / IFTN
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 9 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 1 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote):
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 12,737 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 1,026 / 20,072,475
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 201 / 60,856
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 239 / 558,124

@anotherone, I will swap the filters mornings a plug direct into test socket and leave it overnight and check again in morning, there seems to have been a couple of disconnects today
Again thanks for suggestions

Re: can someone check my line, constant disconnects

Well those stats are awful tonight, that Noise margin has gone very low and the sync speed has dropped a bit.
Can you hear any audible crackling or other noise on the line when using the phone?
Try the filter swap anyway, nothing to lose.

Re: can someone check my line, constant disconnects

@anotherone, done as you suggested, changed filter and plugged into test socket, left it overnight, looks like there was a disconnect at some point. Can you explain what the fec errors are, seems alot and only been playing PS4 online for a few hours.
The broadband still disconnects when I try to use the phone
forgot to copy router stats before I tried the phone but with 10hrs uptime it was showing just over 63 million fec errors, snr margin was around 7/6
current stats after disconnect

Re: can someone check my line, constant disconnects

FEC is forward error correction. The large number means a lot of errors have been corrected.
You need to raise a fault BUT Can you hear any audible crackling or other noise on the line when using the phone?
Who is your phone provider?

Re: can someone check my line, constant disconnects

Afternoon Mandy,
FEC errors relate to an error management technique called "interleaving" and the recovery there of.  FEC stands for Forward Error Correction.
I guess you do not really want boring with the detail, however briefly they are errors which the router can manage WITHOUT the need to retransmit the data.  FEC recovery does take a bit of time and therefore can degrade responsiveness (latency) but is quicker than end to end transmission.
Your line is in a bad state, this needs the PN faults guys to look at the copper pair quality.
Sorry we cannot help you.

@anotherone plusnet supplies both and fault already raised, guess i will have to play waiting game lol
The phone is crystal clear on quiet test line only when router/broadband not connected

Re: can someone check my line, constant disconnects

Well it's either a bad joint or maybe faulty Master socket, unless there's a fault on the exchange equipment.
