plugged into test socket as you said on the phone keeping setup the same as mentioned above so still with my phone and Sky attached

The line's been stable since about half six last night, so I presume that's when your hubby plugged it into the test socket? Let's see how it goes for the rest of the day.

yes thats when it was plugged into the test socket, think the longest it has been stsbl was about 1day 5 hours a few days ago so fingers crossed it stays connected this time, if it does then what i guess my router isnt the problem then?.

Although router problems do occur, the vast majority of the time, instability is caused by poor internal wiring or set up. Only time will tell though. I'll check it later on and see how it's going.

Got as far as the section where it says have you tried a different router and answered no then it said the reasons why to try another router and gave 2 options I tried another router or I havnt and I may be charged so I borrowed my mothers router also a voyager2110 and she changed to plusnet just after me and neither of us could connect to our broadband with the other routers so have sent hers back and at a loss at what to do I cannot afford Bt to charge me any suggestions I am still part way through the broadband trouble shooter and font like to click I havnt tried a different router

The faults team can then start their extended tests and if a router fault is identified as the most likely cause they will probably offer to lend you one. I'm sure they wouldn't arrange an engineer visit without an alternative router being tried if they felt it was necessary.
