Re: broadband usage

Hi Slick,
You're on the fixed type usage so rather than extra bandwidth added and extra usage charged at the end of the month your connection will slow down during peak times. You can change this option to flexible in the members centre if you wish (in which case usage will be added at £1 per Gb) or you can add a set amount of usage for 75p per Gb. Alternatively you can leave things as they are and your usage will be reset on your billing date.
Hope that helps,

Re: broadband usage

I realise that there are pages on the portal that refer to typical broadband usage for each activity. However, I wonder if it would be possible for suggestions regarding hints and tips that will go some way to reduce usage (particularly for newcomers)?  For instance, I have noticed that using Firefox/Adblock Plus has helped.  Also, keeping tabs open for the pages that I use frequently saves re-loading and hence usage. These are small matters and probably very basic but might help.

Re: broadband usage

It may well do once the usage limit is hit during peak time as total traffic is limited to 128kbps when this happens.

Re: broadband usage

Hi there,
No need to wait till the end of the month, I've changed the account type for you and sent you a ticket. You'll need to disconnect the ADSL for a few minutes and reconnect, then when you've reconnected you should be on the new account type.
Hope that helps, thanks for letting us know.

Re: broadband usage

How much have you been charged because there is no charge to change accounts?
Note: if you change before your billing date, you will be charged a pro-rata amount to cover the remaining period of your billing month at the new package cost. This is because you pay for your usage in advanced.

Re: broadband usage

only a small amount but when i asked
"will this incurr any additional charges to my account?"
and got a reply of
There is no charge for moving options.

so i read that as no charge wot so ever,
if you look at my ticket you will see it

Re: broadband usage

Looking at your account I can see that you have been charged the difference between the prices of the products and not an upgrade charge. I'll have a word with the agent that said there would be no charges at all because he should have told you about the price difference between products.
