As long as the Belkin works OK on your line, isn't prone to dropping the connection and supports ADSL2+ there is no reason to change.

Hi
Thanks for the reply and yes it does not drop the line but how do I know it supports ADSL+2, I know that sounds dump because maybe it already does but how do I know for sure.

The technical specification that is likely to be on the box or near the back of the user guide should tell you. It might even be mentioned on the product label underneath the router.
I assume you are not currently on ADSL2+ or you would already know. However, it doesn't really matter whether it does or doesn't, you will still be able to connect to Plusnet but using ADSL1. Whether you would notice depends how far you are from the exchange and whether you ever check your router stats including sync speeds.

hi
thank you for your info I have looked at the manual and found this quote:
ADSL Modem with
Wireless G Router
Designed to Meet ADSL2+ Specification.
So yes I assume it does meet the requirments according to this info.
So I do not think there is much difference between the 2 routers.
many thanks again

Yes, I would expect it to be OK for ADSL2+

I had a belkin of this type.
I'd give the Thompson a go personally. The Belkin was no end of trouble
