advantage/disadvantage in always using the same IP address: with network devices

Hi all,
Can someone tell me, if there is any advantage/disadvantage in always using the same IP address: with network devices?

Sure - it makes them easily accessible.
DNS offsets the need for static internal IPs somewhat, but it's always 100% reliable.
Network printers changing IP address can also cause problems occasionally.
I tend to setup static mappings in my DHCP server - most routers have this option and it takes seconds to configure.
