Due to trying to resolve my DNS outage (turned out to be the PlusNet firewall which was auto-enabled on my account a few days ago) I also discovered that my PlusNet-supplied router (using it while my normal one is being repaired) has a restricted management interface. One of the biggest issues (for me) is that I can't modify the remote management; specifically, the telnet password seems to be independent from the web interface password. The router does respond to telnet on the LAN interface, however neither my password nor any of the commonly listed passwords for Zyxel routers work, so I'm guessing it's a PlusNet-configured thing. Being overseas at the moment I can't reflash the router firmware. Well, I could, at the risk of losing all settings and thus all access to my LAN, so not about to try that! Is this something which PlusNet can change "on the fly" via TR69? Cheers, - Micha.
