Your estimated line speed

Quote
Estimated line speed:
    2.5Mb (This may vary between 1.5Mb and 3.5Mb) - Checked on 2012-08-21 15:30:01
Current line speed:
    1.75 Mb

The above is from the Member Centre. It appears a recent check has been made for my line, prior to this the estimated speed was 2Mb and varied between 1 and 3. My line has never achieved better than 2.4Mbps.
Has anything changed to improve my line? Is there anything I can do to achieve this revised estimate? I am connected via the master socket which has an Openreach fitted filtered faceplate, all telephones are filtered.

Re: Your estimated line speed

I'm not at home right now, so can't put up any up-to-date stats. However, my line has a d/s attenuation of 63.5dB, current sync speed of 2072 or thereabouts, and the noise margin when I last checked (Tuesday @ around 10am) was 6.4dB against a target of 6dB on ADSL1.
AFAIK nothing has changed physically to improve the line quality, and the exchange hasn't been moved any closer to my home address. I just don't believe the info on the estimate is in any way accurate.
But I would not be in any way upset or offended to be proved wrong. Roll_eyes
