Wrong username in router settings - Recycled router??

Just had plusnet installed this morning, all working.

However, when I go into the router settings the Broadband user name is not mine but someone else's.

I'm presuming the router has been recycled, but cannot see how to change the username to mine. I guess the username will affect the speed I receive so would like to sort it.

Many thanks

Fix

@eains welcome to the forum.

Assuming you have a hub two.

From the home page navigate >Advanced settings >Broadband

You need to click disconnect and enter yourusername@plusdsl.net and password, then select Connect, this should save you username/password pair.

Try a factory reset of the router. What is the displayed username?

Re: Wrong username in router settings - Recycled router??

Disconnecting allowed me to reset the username. Thank you.

Re: Wrong username in router settings - Recycled router??

Just disconnecting allowed me to reset the username.

It was a personal name, not the set up one.

Many thanks

Re: Wrong username in router settings - Recycled router??

@eains - I've had a go at correctly associating your hub with your account. There is a chance that what I've done will revert the username back to the setup details. If this happens, then factory reset the hub by inserting something into the pinhole at the rear of the hub until the LED flashes green. When the hub comes back up it should auto-populate with the correct credentials after 5 mins or so.
