Would some decent chap cast an eye over these figures please.

Hi People
I have just recently moved from Value to Premium (13th Jan) and wondered if my broadband speed should have improved significantly since that time.
My exchange is ADSL2+ enabled and I live about 1.5k from the exchange.  I have a single socket in a flat with a new Thomson 585 v7 and an Apple Extreme wireless router.  Nothing else is connected (apart from a telephone) and the connections are not near other electrical equipment.
I have attached the pertinent figures, but if you require anything else please let me know.
Thanks for your help.
Paul

Hi
Box 2 shows up your telephone number for everybody on the web to see.  It would be better to cover it up or delete box 2

Stats look pretty tidy to me, was there something you were particularly concerned with?
P.S. We need to swap homes so I can get those kind of speeds. 4 bed detached in the sticks?  Grin

They're not bad, looks like you have a target SNR of 9 though.
Can you describe the wiring in your house?
Also your upload is still capped at 448 if you want higher upload on ADSL2 you can ask for it.

Assume there is a filter on the telephone?

Consider it a deal.  Everybody here witnessed the terms!  Not really concerned.  Just wondered if I should be getting a faster download service.
Ah. Adiewoo.  The only voice of rescue and reason in a sea of...
The flat is about ten years old with a single line in with a NTE5 split rectangular socket  with the BT 'piper' logo.  I have tried using the test socket, changing the splitter and removing the phone.  The line speed and SN margin remain the same.
It would be nice to get a better upload speed.  Will I need to raise a ticket for this?

if I remember correctly as I am not yet on ADSL2  increasing your upload will slightly lower your download, and you are only just ver the ADSL - ADSL2  border

Re: Would some decent chap cast an eye over these figures please.

Download speed reducing would not be welcome to say the least.
Not sure if anyone can advise on a way forward with the download issue.  After publishing the figures I was hoping that someone would take a look and be able to say there was a way of setting some wheels in motion to get it checked out or even that speed is fine.
As you say that my speed is towards the bottom end of the ADSL2 scale, it at least makes me think that I should expect better.
Any suggestions on a way forward - if indeed there is one - would be appreciated.

what I was referring to is that the max synch on ADSL is 8128 and yours is 8555, I will let someone else say what you can get from your noise  margins
