Would I be better on Pro

Did Pro users have a good experience during the recent heavy traffic?

Re: Would I be better on Pro

To rub salt into the wound I have had no problems at all on BBYW 1
Even downloading a trial of Office 2007 it was hitting over 100 kB/sec in early evening on Monday

Re: Would I be better on Pro

What issues were you seeing Mitch?
The only issue I had was slow PSN downloads, but I can live with that for a bit..

Re: Would I be better on Pro

Was really slow just generally as I said I gave up in the end (could be because a lot of sites I visit are served up via the big bad CDNs that PN throttles unless you're on Pro)
Anyway as cancellations tell me I cant get a MAC unless I pay up for both home phone and BB and then head back to errr, BT (want to keep HP and pay off the ADSL) I cant do diddly squat till September so am looking at whether to cough up the extra and go Pro so am not throttled.
Is it worth it?

On PAYG (same priorities as Pro) I've seen no problems - I wonder if the problem is your exchange and nothing to do with Plusnet.

Suck it and see - you can always go back.
If you can give links to some of the sites you have problems with and we can check how it works for us.

Re: Would I be better on Pro

I request a downgrade to option 1 with a view to leaving last night is it likely I'll cause issues if I put in another request?

You weren't on Pro & had a BT issue at either the exchange or on your line.

If you call CS, they'll be able to cancel one downgrade and apply the upgrade for you.

Re: Would I be better on Pro

Isn't that the pro rata fee to take you to your next billing date?

Re: Would I be better on Pro

I didn't but as I say a lot of the sites I visit are edge cached so I suspect (but do not know) that the traffic would be put to the back of the queue for upstream bandwidth.
Anyway, tis done now and I'll stick with this as at least my packets will be able to queue jump now.
Yes James think it is

Re: Would I be better on Pro

I've put a ticket in to ask them to make sure the downgrade is cancelled though one would hope that the billing system is intelligent enough not to do the downgrade.
