Would I be able to get more speed out of my Fibre connection?

Hi,
I'm fairly new to Plusnet and am on the 38Mbps Unlimited Fibre package, (EDIT: and am getting 38Mbps on speedtests).
However, looking at http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ it says the maximum download speed achievable for my line is 57 Mbps.
If I could get something close to that, then I'd be willing to pay £5 extra a month to go on Fibre Unlimited Extra.
I'm just wondering if I upgrade whether I can downgrade if I don't get that speed? Also, will I keep my 9-month introductory discount if I upgrade?
And how would I go about upgrading?

Hi there,
Yes you could downgrade back down if that didn't work out. Just be aware that changing fibre account types would involve re contracting each time.
Changes to your account type can be made here:

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply & help.
I don't mind re-contracting. However, can you tell me whether I'd keep my 9-month introductory discount if I upgrade via the online upgrader?
Thanks again, Paul.

U will lose 9-month introductory discount if u upgrade or downgrade. The offer could be continue or not depend what offer u get if re-contract new deal.

Thanks for that info goldenfibre.
If I go through the web-site to upgrade, would I get another deal, or would it be best to phone up for the upgrade?

Use a phone call to plusnet to get a deal. Don't use website as you will lose discount and no discount deal.

Many thanks goldenfibre!
(EDIT: Have just phoned Plusnet, upgraded to Unlimited Fibre Extra, and got a similar discount to my introductory one).

Re: Would I be able to get more speed out of my Fibre connection?

Now happily getting 56Mbps download on my connection.
Would be interested to know why I wasn't offered the Unlimited Fibre Extra package at sign-up - I was told my line could only support 40Mbps?
Anyway, thanks for everyone's help on here.

Re: Would I be able to get more speed out of my Fibre connection?

Yep, thanks again for your advice. I probably would have done the upgrade through the website, and lost my discount, without it. My new discount isn't quite as good as my introductory offer, but it's close enough and it's nice to get a bit of extra speed Smiley
