Wireless signal Range

Advice needed to allow me to increase the range of my router wireless signal to enable me to use my lap top in another room, presently out of range or with very weal signal

The standard advice is to try different wireless channels - try channels 1, 6 and 11 first.
Assuming you have the current Plusnet router - the 582n - there are a few settings that can be enabled that may provide a small improvement: http://npr.me.uk/telnet.html#w300
The 10.2 firmware is also supposed to contain some wireless improvements.

Small tweaks in the position of your router can also have a big effect.  The wireless signals travel in a straight line to your laptop, through any obstacles in their way (walls, etc).  Travelling diagonally through a brick wall can make a wall which is only a foot thick have the same effect on the signal as a 3 foot thick wall straight on.
