Will my Technicolor TG582n switch to the 5ghz band

Hello all
I've installed inSSIDer which shows several networks near me including my own operating on the 2.4ghz band.  It may not be overly congested but I'm experiencing some issues trying to get the full potential out of my network.  As the 5ghz band is totally empty I thought it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.
I was just wondering if the TG582n supplied by plusnet will allow me to switch to 5ghz.  If so, can anybody please tell me how I would achieve this as I'm struggling to find any way of changing it in the setup area of my router.  I've just signed up to Plusnet and haven't got used to the interface, so I apologise if it's a little obvious.
Manky thanks

The 582n is not capable of using the 5GHz band.

That's why PN give it away foc, because it's a cheap, basic router. I use an Asus RT-N56U & I'm the only user in my neighbourhood using the 5Ghz channel.

It could also be that 5GHz doesn't have quite such a long range as 2.4GHz, so you won't detect networks on the 5GHz band as far away as those on 2.4.
There are various settings to improve the 582n wifi: http://npr.me.uk/telnet.html#w300
Also the 10.2 firmware is supposed to contain some wifi improvements.
