Wi-Fi failing

Wi-Fi is failing two or three times a day on different devices at different time, however mainly on my laptop which is on the 5Ghz channel. I have seen a previous post from last year that relates to this problem and it appeared to be resolved by a firmware update. The current firmware on my router is 4.7.5.1.83.8.263 dated 21/03/19. Can the firmware be updated on my router?
