Why is my Broadband so fast?

Usually people are complaining that their BB is too slow.
Im not complaining. I just happened to do a speed test (thinkbroadband) and it reports 11.2Mbits download speed. The last time I did a test (october 12) it was 5.9Mbit and its been roughly that for years, give or take - nothings changed, why is it faster now? Have BT rolled out a speed increase?
Just wondering.

At some point your exchange was upgraded to WBC (21CN) and soon after that Plusnet upgraded you from ADSL to ADSL2+ without you even noticing.

Some of us, like myself, who live very close to the Exchange get much higher speeds, on COPPER, but OldJim shouts at me if I post them !!
