Why don't plusnet offer the same speeds as competitors?

Trying to sign up to Fibre at my new address.

Sky, NowTv, Talk talk all offer a super fast package speeds (25-30mbs). Plusnet do not, they are only listing essential broadband (max speed 14 mbs).

My understanding was all these providers are using the same network. So who isn't being accurate here?

Has plusnet run out of capacity? Or are the competition just enticing people in with speeds they can't hit?

According to ofcom, superfast speeds are available in my new postcode.

Thanks

@dragon_gool

Put your phone number in here and then post a screen image of the results (hiding your phone number). This will tell us what's available and the speeds achievable.

@dragon_gool  Just don't take any notice of what OFCOM may say, they haven't got a clue.😀

Thanks Brian.

I do not know the phone yet - so I had to use the post code.

It's saying "Waiting List" for the superfast speeds.

Do you know if that is that just for BT/Plusnet or all providers?

@dragon_gool

It's for all providers who use the OpenReach network. You've just got to keep on checking on a regular basis and hope "Available" shows up.

You'd need to place an ADSL order to get going. PN (or any other provider) will upgrade you if asked once FTTC becomes available.

Have you checked if any other Alternative networks have installed in the area (search ultrafast broadband for the area).

If you're not a PN customer then they no longer offer e-mails services.

You'll need ADSL just to get you going. Once you've moved in you need to check daily to see if a "port" in the cabinet has become available or if OR have installed additional capacity. Jump in quick with your order just in case other's are in the situation.
