Curious as to which connection PC uses, when it has a wired 100mbps
& a 54 wireless connection from same router, as to which one it defaults to re Interconnect speed?

dont get too confused, probably the 100M is the ethernet connection RJ45 the 50 the USB, wiless is not as fast

Gel, if you do a route print from a command prompt you will get something like this:

The Metric on the right hand end is a weighting and the system will always use the lowest weighted route available. You should find that your 100M route has a lower weighting than the wireless one and therefore the 100M will be used in preference to the wireless.

David thanks; on my XP2 SP3 machine the command works but the pop up box disappears from screen in a nano second

I think you need to open a DOS windows by typing CMD in the run box then typing the command in the DOS window

Wired connection has a lower metric as you say of 20, versus 25 for Wifi.
