When Does it Get Better

Well having migrated over to plusnet last thursday i have been stuck at 128kbps ever since  Sad and wondering if someone can now give this a kick in the right direction because at the minute im wondering what i am paying for. Yes i understand the 10 day settling in period but i would have expected a change by now.
A little history,
Prior to moving i was getting 3.5mbps but i was having a lot of trouble with my usb modem losing power on the usb bus and kept having to reboot it to bring it back to life, sometimes frequently, sometimes not,  so i presume this has driven my profile right down. This was my comps fault not anything to do with the exchange although im presuming thats how it would have been reported
Apart from when i plugged the router in the master socket  approx 78hrs ago the line has been stable and no errors so i would have expected an improvement by now. I primarily moved over as I play world of warcraft a lot and was getting latency of 70 -90ms, now its more in the region of 350 -3500ms and totally unplayable so as well as taking forever to browse anything i cant even do any serious gaming.
Link to recent speed test, http://speedtester.bt.com/results.asp?BBIP=01332780188&TAP=1&BBD=yes.
Looking at the profile on the speed test even that as come down as when i first tried it last thursday it was set at 3500

Re: When Does it Get Better

I assume you have tried rebooting the router as those numbers are absolutely silly and nothing to do with the settling in period.
I would also suggest connecting the router to the connection behind the master socket with nothing else connected and see if the downstream and upstream rates improve.
My first thought is that you may have an unfiltered phone/Sky box/alarm on the system

Chris,
If you could reboot your router and repost those stats again, it would be helpful Smiley

Re: When Does it Get Better

Chris,
Can you make sure that *every other* telephony device in your house is disconnected and see if there is any improvement in the downstream / upstream rate?

Re: When Does it Get Better

Have done already,  the only thing that is plugged in is the router itself into the filter fitted to the master socket. And im connected to router via ethernet cable.

http://faults.plus.net please Smiley
Reckon (as Jelv suggested) that it could potentially be something that occurred at your previous ISP.
We'll get BT on the case for you.
Do you have any alternate hardware?
